i bought a straight razor and it used to be that you could fold it out and it would stay straight but now when i fold it out it just folds back down and i dont know how to tighten the pin help

if it's got a pinned pivot then you can't tighten it, you would have to speak to the manufacturer.

Get a small (4 oz) ball peen hammer. Place your razor on a hard surface. Some folks drill a divot in the side of a hammer for the pin to rest on. LIGHTLY tap the pin. Lightly as in you want to tap it multiple(think 100's of times). Test regularly, stop when pin is sufficiently tight. You do not want to hit hard, as you may easily damage the razor's scales.

Use the ball end of the hammer.

You can also use vise grips, channel locks or pliers to try to squeeze the sides together. Make sure to do it on the pin, not the handle. Depending on how it is made will be what decides your outcome, successful or not

I do the same as Frank described. Also, check out part 11 of undream's youtube video on pinning straight razors, skip ahead to where he's peining the pin and how he checks to get the tightness correct, you can basically pick it up there and follow what he's doing... Maybe start around 8:20 (or start at part 1, it's a great tutorial!). Best of luck!
