I am definitely a green horn when it comes to straight razors so my question is to start out with a straight razor what is a good razor that won't break the bank to try and learn and practice on?

Thanks
Robbie

Check out the Whipped Dog website. Larry over there is known for restoring old razors and selling them for a low price.

Otherwise, you might like to get a Shavette. That's a fake-straight razor that uses disposable Double Edge (DE) blades. You don't get the full edge length that you would with a real straight (unless you get the correct holder and type of blades), but you do get to practice holding the razor and shaving at your own custom angle. Plus, you don't have to deal with honing and stropping, and you're always guaranteed a super sharp blade.

I like dovo, they make good razors and they are not to expensive(at least not all of them). The most importend is that the razor shave ready!
