I am a big fan of Osprey K&T knives. So much so, I am exclusively seeking his fixed blades. While I currently only own 2, a Warthog and an Apache, I am always on the look out for the next one. Ever since my wife assumed possesion of my Warthog last deer season I've been looking to get another.

Recently I noticed a new model in the line-up. The "Razorback" cuaght my eye. I just about fell out when I saw the "gem quality KOA" posted last week.

Any pics for comparison or other descriptions would help. I figure a few of them will be out in-hand in the next few weeks. Please share your pics, description or experience with the new "Razorback."

Thanks in advance.

Chris provided an image comparing the two pattern blanks in the 8/30/16 Progress thread. I'm pretty interest myself in hearing more about the Razorback when more of them get made and out the door. Maybe Peter will chime in when he has a chance to stop admiring that beautiful Koa and formulate some thoughts.

From this pic alone, it looks like a winner to me. I am partial to the warthog, so the same handle style but extended out and taller on a larger blade is appealing.

I'll be swinging by the shop later today to pick the Koa Razorback up from Chris. Yes, the dude is actually working on Labor Day. Tomorrow we head up to North Carolina and I plan on bringing the knife with me so I'll be sure to post a few pics later in the week. I'll also include one of my Warthog's to provide some side-by-side comparisons.

Thank you both. The pic of the blanks helps and I definately woukdnt mind see ping more of that KOA. Great score with that one.

Just got back from our trip to Highlands, NC and here are a few pics that compare several different models of OK&T:

First a solo shot of the new Razorback:

Next a comparison next to an Apache and a Warthog. You'll notice the similar blade profile with the Apache and handle design with the Warthog:

Another shot including a Raptor:

The handle on the Razorback offers a full four finger grip for my XL size hands. The knife is beautifully tapered and well balanced. Chris did a fantastic job in proportioning the expanded Warthog style handle & matching it up with an Apache style blade. It's a winner in my book

Hey Peter,

Wow, that Razorback is just beautiful. They're all superb actually. Thanks for sharing that info and the great pics!!

Great pictures (& knives!) Peter. Thanks for sharing.

Phil

P.S. - That stump looks familiar. :)

It's actually a different stump. The one we used back in June did not have proper light when we stopped by to take the shots.

Lots of great stumps at Half Mile Farm !

Peter... Wow! Hang on to that one, she is a beauty. The photos are superb; when is your next photography class - sign me up.

The picture comparing the Razorback with the Apache is very helpful. While I think the open handle of the Apache will have a slightly better feel overall compared to the Razorback, I do know that I would like to try the new model given how much I like the Warthog's handle.

Great mix of handles, I don't see anything there I do not like.

Both the Razorback and Warthog you have are fine specimens. Great comparison! Thank you.

Thanks for the comments guys, & thanks to my great friend Phil for assisting me in landing the Koa Razorback !
