Does anybody know what the grit rating is on these stones? They are used dry--which I like. Im looking for some 8 inch hones that are for finishing the edge and these are priced right.
Thanks!

Razor Edge rates the coarse stone at 100g and the fine at 400g. In use, the fine leaves a finish that compares around a 1000-1200g sandpaper finish.

I would compare it to a white arkansas. It is a hard stone and leaves a nice finish. I have the kit, i don't use the guides all the time but really like the stones.

I like the RazorEdge stones. They will put a nice edge on a knife. I especially like the entire system for sharpening Wharncliff blades. In fact, I've turned several knives into straight edges by mistake using it... :o

I find the fine stone to give me an edge somewhere around 400-600 grit, as compared with EdgePro stones. Nice enough for general cutting.
