totally terribly. just downright ugly. way to ruin a good blade. you need to destroy that asap. here just send it to me il take care of it for you....... ;)

I see a rabbit being eviscerated and worn as a hat! Oh, what? It's not an ink blot test... Nice work man, it really does look good. Are you doing that with cera or dura?

God bless,
Adam

EDIT: Looking at the picture... you know the one with the knife I am commenting on mounted on the Cerakote plaque may hint to the answer of my question.

The knife looks AMAZING, well done ! my only critic would be to make the pattern go all the way out of the blade so it's less noticeable and make better camo , but otherwise this knife totally ROCKS love it ! :D
( little quick photoshop to visualise ! )

You used Cerakote to do that? Is that a bake-on? If so, what temp do you have to bake it at?

I personally look forward to your "Damn, I dropped my knife in the woods!" thread.
But I'm sick like that.

That looks great, but I wonder how well that will hold up to hard use on a blade.
I've never had any problems with Cerakote holding up to my Glock but that doesn't get the kinda abuse a blade does. Color me interested.

Man, that looks really cool. Normally im not a friend of any ESEE Modes i saw here before.
But this is just awesome.

Looks great, really cool. I like the handle mods as well.

Now re-sharpen that edge, and go use it!

Would be interesting to see how the coating holds up to some use..

I think that is a great idea. I never was a fan of the Strider tiger strips, but this has a certain appeal.

I would contemplate the more 'complete' pattern as noted sixmoon, which is even more appealing.

I'm not familiar with the coating you are using. How tough is it? The logo would make it seem like it's meant for firearms, but I'm not sure how that translates to knives.

Thanks all and those are good points to note....next time I will take the pattern all the way down. I took it over the spine and down the entire tang area but didn't think about taking it all the way down to the cutting edge.

Cerakote holds up very well on a knife. The thing to remember is, it is a coating. It will wear off but it takes some doing. I have worked with Gun Kote, Duracoat, and Cerakote and have found that Cerakote is the toughest out of the three. Don't get me wrong....Duracoat is tough shit too....just don't like to wait the 3-5 weeks for it to fully cure. Cerakote is ready for tough use right out of the oven.

Oh....and I bake Cerakote at 250 degrees for 2 hours. I have a few pics of a Scrapyard knife I did in red that I batoned the shit out of.....I can post those if anyone is interested.

DYLSIDE....if interested shoot me a email or PM. I am starting to work a lot more with custom makers.

Cerakote is pretty stout. I've been using it on firearms for a couple of years now. Just for giggles, I refinished my wife's compost/garden shovels with it last summer and it's holding up very well. As an added benefit, the coating is almost "non-stick" and it exhibits much more lubricity than the bare steel. The edges show a little wear, but otherwise, they still look pristine after a rinse with the water hose and I don't have to worry about rust/corrosion.

I think it would work quite well on knives/machetes.
