Lately I've been carving spoons like I'm trying to win a bet and today I had a split piece of Buckthorn that was just sitting there taunting me. It wasn't thick enough to carve a spoon and it was too thick to just pitch with the wood chips.

So, I carved a fuzz stick. (That's all the same single piece of wood.)

I finally cut all the way through and am now working the other side of the stick...

cool! nice cutting and great blade for it! love the color combo too...

Nice! I was looking at that and the phrase "Colombian necktie." popped into my head for some reason.

Damn, that stick looks ready to burn. :D Good job, bro!

:D

I finished up the other half of the stick and walked off with them looking for a match 'cause I'm a hard-core pyro and my wife and daughter got all upset about how I was going to "ruin" them if I burned them.

I humored them and dropped the fuzz sticks into a bucket with the other ones I've done and now it sits there waiting for the next time I need to fire up the grill or fire pit.
