I was checking out choltzapple's RC-4 based kit an was thinking about doing the same thing to my RC-3 Mil but i'm not sure if the RAT accessory pouch would bolt up to the 3 sheath since they only offer it for the 5/6. Anyone try this before or am I going to have to customize it? Not that its a bad thing...

the top 2 screws line up but seems like the bottom 2 have to be tied. its seems like dizwolf or tony put up some pics but i dont rember for sure

You are the man TTD-it just shows that even at 63 there's still good stuff to learn. Thanks for for all your input. ;)

I see a lot of post with picture of those watch-compass .. do they work pretty well ? i carry a regular carto compass but this lil watch is a good idea (quicker to use). IF they work well, where can we get one ?

the watch type compass I have I was given by DonR and works great.
there are alot of off brands I am unsure of but I have seen Brunton & Suunto and I would only buy a trusted brand.

me too.. far too many compass are not reliable... and what is more important than a tool that wont make you travel around in circle for weeks when you are deep into the wilderness.. im paying extra to get reliable tool .. and i have never seen any compact-button-compass that can be trusted.... yet..

im always on the lookout to upgrade my gear, its a passion and an addiction.. and since i read this post.. i need once again to spend some money.. thanks guys!! :)

the little button compasses are not bad .. just give it a few minutes to find true N and that is all you get a general direction finder is all.
