RC-3 & RC-3MIL, what is the difference?

That's it as far as the knife is concerned. Of course the MIL spec one comes with the MOLLE back for the sheath.

The handles on the MIL are grippier. I think it's called canvas micarta?

Sharpened pommel ,serial numbered and Canvas micarta, comes standard with Molle backing I believe an as a Bonus it is cool looking set up if that means anything to ya :D

The green canvas micarta is also used on the Desert Tan regular models.

As far as canvas micarta, linen micarta & G10, most people notice little or no difference in the gripping ability.

must have numb hands.... though G10 and linen micarta does feel smooth To me the Canvas Micarta does have more of a grip factor, that is why I switched my RC5 scales with the RC6,I use my 6 more but I prefer the RC5 scales, jusr personal preference I guess.

What I was stating about the difference between canvas micarta, linen micarta & G10 is what I have heard from the majority of others experiences & those making knives. Yes.. linen micarta & G10 are smoother than canvas micarta but that is only one factor. You are correct in that it ultimately is a matter of personal preference as there are a LOT of factors that contibute to the grippiness of a handle.

:D I agree ,I re-read what I typed didn't mean to sound like an Ass ! Sorry

No need to apologize my friend... Open & frank discussion is good!

For me, it seems harder trying to get across a thought when I have to type it out verses verbally talking with someone.

Great info!

Extra grip on the handle means allot to me, so I will stick to the 'canvas'

A small additional point is the black RC-3mil lacks the green liners inbetween the blade handle and the micarta. I have both the canvas and linen micarta, and honestly, they both feel fantastic. The green liners really look excellent on the black blade. I was shapening them the other day and wanted to choose which to use in the back yard, and I kept going back and forth because the grip felt very comfortable.
So your choice is clear to me, get both!

just so the OP knows, while it does come with the molle back (as already pointed out), it also comes with the molle locks

Thanks men

I ended up ordering the RC-3MIL with the RAT capsule flint. Didn't get an IZULA with this order but I dare say I will tack one on to a RC-5 I'm planning on ;)
