RC-3 serial numbers

New to RAT knives, as I just picked up my RC-3 yesterday. Been browsing these forums and I've noticed all(most) of the knives have serial numbers on them. How come the RC-3 does not have a serial number on them? RC-3MIL does..? Perhaps the wide range of RC-3's available?
