Without a doubt this has been covered already but w/out search functionality i'm limited to hunt and peck.

What is the difference between the Mil RC-3 and the RC-3 ?

Also, if I have an Izula what would be the added benefit of an RC-3 or should I just go for a bit more blade length on the RC-4?

Thanks,

Kj

RC-3MIL has the sharpened pommel, canvas handles and different etching. That and the sheath comes with all the bells and whistles, Molle back, boot clip and all that.

As for the 3 vs. the 4, If I had an Izula I'd go with the 4.

RC-3MIL has:
a sharpened glass breaker pommel,
serial number,
black blade either straight or partially-serrated with green canvas micarta handles,
foilage green molded plastic sheath,
molle back plate included

RC-3 has:
either modified (rounded pommel) or glass breaker pommel,
no serial,
choice of black, od green, desert tan blade either straight or partially-serrated with gray linen micarta, g10 orange, green canvas micarta handles respectively,
coyote brown, black, foilage green molded plastic sheath respectively,
molle back plate optional on some packages

If I had an Izula already (unfortunately I do not), I'd get a -4.

If I was going to buy an RC3 it would be the RC3 MIL. Best package deal around.

I wouldn't worry about whether you have the Izula in the decision between the RC3 and the RC4. What you should consider is which thickness blade you prefer (RC3 = 1/8" and RC4= 3/16"). The RC3 is a better slicer while the RC4 is better as a wilderness blade.

The sheath options are also different but if you get the RC4 with the molle back then they are comparable to the RC3 MIL.

Handle length on the RC3 and RC4 is the same.

RAT PACK #103

The RC-3MIL is just a little more $ then the RC-3.

IMHO if you don't need the glass breaker and SN then go for the RC-3. ;)

Thanks for the advice. Is the RC-3 the same thickness as the izula? I really like how the izula handles w/ cuts..
