I never liked the original kydex sheath. Too much "tactical" and not enough "outdoors". I had this fixed by Dutch sheath-maker Martin Swinkels, who is a BF-member as well.
The great thing is that it combines the solid lock-up of kydex with the great looks and feel of a decent old-school leather sheath. Both liner and leather colors can be chosen; this one was in stock; had I ordered one I might have gone for a tan liner - since the fit is pretty tight, the red does rub off a little on the tan paint. The strap can be fitted either way 'round; for easy withdrawal, or for solid retention. There's also an adjustment-screw for the retention-strenghth.
Just nudging into a three-digit price in USD, it's not cheap - but that's the price of solid custom-work.
Pics are a bit bland but so's the weather here... Sunshine is an extreme rarity in this country. :grumpy:
