Just over 2 weeks ago I got my OD Green with orange handled RC-4 and have been using it off and on in the kitchen. Today I was going to make fried rice and Yams. Well the RC-4 worked great cutting up the Garlic, Cellery, Onions, and yams. Here are a couple pictures for your enjoymen:

Definantly didn't need to reprofile the RC-4's edge to slice well. The factory edge works great slicing food and boxes. It feels great in the hand and looks good too. The handle could maybe be a little thicker and have some contouring to it, but other then that it's perfect for it's size and intended use. At first I had my reservations about the handle because it feels like my hand will slip off the back, but that isn't the case. I can hold on to it in lots of grips with wet or dry hands and have no problem exercizing perfect control with the knife. So to sum it up, this knife is perfect for me in the 4-5" fixed bladed catagory. It's going to give my Western L36 a run for belt time.

Great pics. Mine gets used in the kitchen a lot too, because it is always...close by.

Looks like a dish served with rice instead of Fried Rice being the main course, but that's my opinion from "real chinese cooking". Excellent use too!

Looks good! What time is dinner?

Dinner was at 4pm. I also had some BBQ'd chicken thights with it. Still got left overs in the fridge for tomorrow.

Hi Heber will you be making one of your great sheaths for that Rat??

Yep, I was wearing the prototype all day before work.

I'm starved! Should I bring a bottle of red or white.

I don't drink, but think a white wine would go best. But again, what do I know. ;)

Near the end I desided to have the rice on the side in a more traditional Chinese way. It was pretty good, though the yams could have used some honey.

great job!!!!!!

Thanks! I'll PM the recipe to you shortly.

Tomorrow I'll be making Chicken Soup in my Dutch oven. Cooks between 4 and 5 hours. If I use the RC-4 tomorrow I'll write about it.

I think the RC-4 is just about the best size for most any task thanks for the pic's

Before i even got to see my RC 3 that I bought, my brother (Heath2) had already been using it to cut up shrimp, sausage, etc. for seafood gumbo. So i find this thread quite interesting, since this happened just yesterday.

Nice review, esp. on the usefulness on the factory edge.

Also, because everyone else did, I will make a comment about the food: Yummy! When's dinner? Red or white? What's the recipie?
