Just over 2 weeks ago I got my OD Green with orange handled RC-4 and have been using it off and on in the kitchen. Today I was going to make fried rice and Yams. Well the RC-4 worked great cutting up the Garlic, Cellery, Onions, and yams. Here are a couple pictures for your enjoymen:
Definantly didn't need to reprofile the RC-4's edge to slice well. The factory edge works great slicing food and boxes. It feels great in the hand and looks good too. The handle could maybe be a little thicker and have some contouring to it, but other then that it's perfect for it's size and intended use. At first I had my reservations about the handle because it feels like my hand will slip off the back, but that isn't the case. I can hold on to it in lots of grips with wet or dry hands and have no problem exercizing perfect control with the knife. So to sum it up, this knife is perfect for me in the 4-5" fixed bladed catagory. It's going to give my Western L36 a run for belt time.
