Ok, so I just recieved a new rc-4 on monday through a trade, and it was the one with the molle back with the velcro, and the pommel cover thing to make it "jump proof". Well since I dont jump out of airplanes very often, I decided to make use of the space under the pommel cover for a micro firekit. I got 5 spark lite tinder tabs, and a 1/8" ferro rod cut to size to fit in the space. This will make a very compact emergency fire kit in that, If I have nothing but my knife, I will still be able to make fire. The new rc-4 is amazing as well, better sized for survival then my rc-6 imo.

The idea sounds great, just trying to picture how you'll keep it in place.

The RC4 is a great size for a survival knife, only limited by its chopping ability which is a lot better than most people think because of its great density.

The pommel cover is some sort of elastic that strectches. I believe it will have enough tension from the stuff to keep it in place. It that fails, a simple piece of black duck tape is all thats needed. I will try to take some pics later.

only if you wear it inverted.. cool idea but I would pick up a ESEE 5/6 pouch and mount it on the Sheath ,Rather be safe than sorryplus you can hold more gear.
