All, we've had a little bit of confusion on the multitude of ways the RC-4 sheath can be configured. We are working on new instruction sheets now with pictures.
The sheath comes from the factory with 3 screws in it. We've already had emails from folks thinking they're missing a screw. They're not. If you use the sheath without a MOLLE back or without the included MOLLE locks (such as lashing it to your belt with the enclosed paracord) then you have to move the top screw from the spine side of the sheath to one of the opposite side holes to make the lockup tight enough on your knife. Tension will vary depending on which hole you use and how tight you tighten the screw. All of this is part of the design.
The sheath is designed to be carried in these fashions (left hand or right hand):
1) With MOLLE back (normal mode)
2) With MOLLE back, inverted carry (when using Velcro strap and elastic pommel cover)
2) With MOLLE locks (vertical)
3) With MOLLE locks (horizontal)
4) Lashed through the sheath holes and around a belt with the enclosed paracord and held in place with the cord lock
If you are using the sheath with the MOLLE locks then the rubber washer goes between the MOLLE Lock and the sheath. Compress it to about 1/2 of it's thickness when you tighten. DO NOT use the rubber washers with the MOLLE back. ONLY carry in inverted mode (upside down) when using the MOLLE back and extra retentions (velcro strap, pommel cover) included on the MOLLE back
Besides using the paracord to lash the sheath, you can also use it for a lanyard.
Again, this may sound confusing but Shon Rowen , Mike and I are working on a detailed instruction sheet with pictures. Should have that finished by Monday and up on the web. It will also be included in the packaging on future orders from the factory.
