This is my RC-5, there are many like it, but this one is mine. I was in awe the second I picked up this knife. I obsessed over it for 3 days, reading all about it and all the other RAT's, reading about the company and it's outstanding philosophy. I just want to say I am impressed. I considered the RC-4 as a camp task knife and was going to wait for the Junglas Machete to come out. But after fondling my RC-5 in the store, I couldn't put it down, I had to have it. I brought it home and immediately put it to work batoning through a seasoned piece of oak and building a nice fire. It went through the oak like a champ. I have many blades but very few have impressed me as much on first site as this. I am now a RAT Cutlery Fan. :D

Congrats bro ... I handled an RC-5 for the first time recently and it's a BEAST.

What store did you buy it from? ive been looking for a store to go and look at and hold RC knives for a while now

Welcome. I too love my rc-5. How did you get such a low production number? I've had mine for about 5 months and my number is 1037. Anyway this will be an ongoing addiction so be prepared to have a RAT infestation.;)

Yes Marine/Full metal jacket reference. I bought it in Carmel, CA. It had been in the shop for quite a while I suppose, that is until I walked in :). I know of another store that has one in stock for another week, called J&S Surplus in Moss Landing CA. But that one is supposedly sold already.

0126 from the first run. I had to wait a couple months on a pre order list for mine. Great knife. My RC4 is my EDC bummin around knife.

RC-5 awsome just awsome got mine two days ago I'm taking it to a place with my RATpack knife where I think no RAT has been before except for my frist RC-3 but I have no pics.
My RC-5 is #1698 without me my RC-5 is nothing, without my RC-5 I am nothing!

It is so very impressive

The last one who misses in my collection =O)
But I ordered it today because my knife dealer hasn't had it in stock.
Hopefully I will get it in 2 to 3 weeks depending on when he's ordering it.
Can't wait to get it.
So far the RC4 was my favorite followed by the Izula but I think the RC5 will turn my new favorite.

This is #1698 I would'nt want it any other way!

I realy like the new kydex sheath very comfortable to carry very flat for a bigger blade.

That's a beauty! Hey exidor since you have the kydex sheath, do you use the belt clip with it? How does that work for you?

Here's an old photo of when my Rc-5 - Number #0088 was new. It's been stationed around my fire pit for the year and now resides strapped to my BOB. I really like the Eagle sheath it came with.

I started a new thread for sharing stories having to do with your RC-5's, so if you have any please share 'em in that thread. Unfortunately I have only had mine for about 3 days now, so no stories yet, but I will be sharing mine as I get to know my new friend.

Yes the clip works well,I put the clip lower on the sheath so it rides higher on my jeans,so when wearing my coat you can't see sheath hanging out.
and it is still easy to pull out.:thumbup:even when driving it dosen't jab at all,now I am left handed so it rides on my left side.
