Will there be a full flat version of the RC-5? I like the scales and blade shape but I prefer a full flat grind.

Thanks

I was thinking about the same thing...or sending it to Krein for a diet. But for whatever reason it isn't as bad a slicer as I thought. I am about to pick up a RC 4 so that will fill that role and the RC5 can stay fat dumb and happy!

If you change the 5 from saber to flat it won't be a beast any more. You would lose chopping mass and prying strength.

If you pull its teeth out it will have to change jobs.......putting stars on top of christmas trees.:)

I too usually prefer a flat grind BUT this was done for a specific reason. The RC5 is a very well thought out blade and it is perfect for it's intended use... E&E that is... Right tool for the job as they say...

I normally hate saber grinds, but they did a good job on compromising on this one. It's pretty high for a saber grind on a 1/4" prybar knife.

There will not be a full flat grind version of the RC5. It wouldn't be as effective at prying open crates of ordinance is what the SERE guys say.:) Mike

That's why I ordered all three. First the RC-4&6 then the 5 on the following morning.

It may be a dumb question, but I just got my RC-5 today and I was wondering what the indention in grip is for? The knife is badass and I can't wait to try it in the woods this weekend.

That indentation is a bow drill divot. Now that you know, you have to go out and use it to start a fire.
