Just checking back to give more thoughts on this monster. Well I got it dirty today choppin on some deadwood and tearing it to bits using the tip to pry apart the natural splits in the wood. It definately works for light chopping duties/batoning action. I am really impressed with tip though. This thing begs to be put to work and will take it. After 10 minutes really beating the RC-5 up, the edge was still shaving sharp. I'm starting to love this thing like my favorite dog. I also think the factory grind on the RC-5 works nicely.

Handle feels great and the micarta is really where its at as far as I'm concerned. The blade coating has definately worn smooth a little bit near the tip and the blade. Don't really care though since I bought this one to use and not collect.

This is a very nice knife and I look forward to using this for a long time. My son is even looking at it like it may one day be his. Whats that all about? Boy you've lost you mind.

Congrats on the knife. That thing is seriously a tank. Let us know how ya like it after gettin her dirty

I have been buying from knifeworks here lately. If you go to the ESEE site it will give you a list of their dealers.

I plan on putting some pictures up after I get her dirty.

My girlfriend calls my RC-5 my "machete". :D

Its a beast of a knife for sure.

I exclaimed "holy crap, now that's a knife" when I saw mine. Showed it to a friend and he likened it to a sharpened crowbar. I'd agree it's a beast, enjoy.

Lol the perefect reason to get a junglas and lite machete. I mean, ya gotta teach her :)

oh, and my girlfriend said she wanted an esee6 last time we were out hiking. At least my shopping list is set for the next holiday. Tuesday is a holiday right? I know we used to drink to it every week in college...

Grats on the ESEE5. That is also the first thing I though, about the weight. It is a hefty blade, and it lets you know it.

Got some pics in the 1st post up top or follow the links below.
