RC-5 is inbound!!

I am pretty dang pumped awaiting the arrival of my RC-5. I did not care about the color, but it had to be a plain edge with the new kydex. I am hoping it will be here tomorrow.

My young son will begin his new job as my hiking buddy this spring and I think its important he learn what "quality" equipment is all about. This knife will be my primary pack knife.

For you that have RC-5's, what is your short opinion. :D

built like a tank... to make it more outdoors friendly for me I will have the edge convexed though.... I love my OD Green 5

Congrats on your new ESEE 5! As Tony said, it really is built like a tank. I also convexed the edge on mine and it does make it a little easier for most camping / outdoor tasks. I'm sure you'll love it, it was my first ESEE knife, and still my favorite!
 
I've been looking for an RC-5, but I want an all tan version and haven't been able to find one. :(

ESEE 5 has a Saber Grind. All other ESEE Knives are Full Flat Grind
ESEE light machete will have convex edge
ESEE Junglas wil have a high saber grind
 
I got mine monday, with the Rat Pack Kit. Its my first ESEE knife. Its more beastly than i figured. I was really impressed with it. I figure it needs some more ESEE knives to keep it company.

It is a beast. Congrats. One can never have too many knives. I'm always lookin for the next one.:D
