I'll be honest. I'm kinda a traditionalist, and when I heard the Eagles where going the way of the Dodo, I bumped up my timeframe and ordered one just to get it. I like cordura, drop sheaths with snaps. I ordered the kydex sheath becuase let's face it, I'm an unrepentant gear whore who needs a USB breathalyzer to lockout the interwebs.
First impressions of the kydex: Wow.
Second impressions of the kydex: Wow.
Put into more words: this does exactly what a sheath should do. It's fast to deploy the knife, and it gobbles it back up when you're done with it. It's secure on the belt...much more than I expected. And the knife is secure in the sheath. I'm comfortable carrying on the low retention setting, and they are not kidding when they call the top of the slide a lock. slide it up, screw it a few times, and that knife is NEVER coming out.
Sorry I don't have photos yet, I'm still literally surrounded by packing peanuts....Just had to comment on the excellent work on this thing. Oh, and as a whim, I tried stuffing my Buck 119 into the old Eagle...yea...tip of the knife came right out the bottom of the sheath. opps.
