Hey everyone, I just needed this recommendation. If you are wondering I was seriously considering the RC-4 but I am not sure if it is suited for what I need it for. I came to the conclusion of the RC-5 or 6 because I want to start doing bush craft projects, and I need a knife that can baton well through smaller trees and wood. I am really getting into a lot of out doors activities, and I need a good fixed blade companion. What do you think? I like the RC-5's power, it's thick blade would be best suited for hard tasks, but on the other side, the RC-6 is cheaper, longer, and whatever other reason. Just give me your opinions.

Hey buddy check out the threads on page 2 there is an almost identical to yours and has 40 or so responses.

I say go with the 6. Its a better knife for bushcraft IMO.

The RC4 is perfectly suitable for bushcraft work. But,out of the two you mentioned,I'd go with the 6.For a pure survival knife, the 5 would be great.

The 6 is longer so it would baton through a larger log theoretically. It's also lighter.

I like the RC-5 but I don't have an RC-6 to compare it to, YET
I also really like the sheath my RC5 came with.

I'm definitly partial to the RC-5. But the RC-6 would be a little easier to do some finer carving and woodwork.

It's been said 100 times. I'll make it 101. I love my rc5, but really, it should be the last knife you buy, never the first.
