I'm looking into the RC-5 can anyone give me some Pros:thumbup: and cons:thumbdn:?

Thanks,
Garrett

pros: It's a RAT, which means one of the best warranties I have heard of, also amazing blade coatings. I also like the looks of the knife, sheath, and bow drill pivot.

Cons: Weight, it was designed to have some heft.

If you like that length, thickness, and weight in a knife; then there really is no cons.

Pros are comfy handle, no choil, and bowdrill divot for those too lazy to make a socket!

Oh, I'm not crazy about the glass breaking pommel, but the handle is big enough to where it doesn't cause too much trouble.

Another pro is the sheath. Secures the knife well and the pocket is big enough for the average pocket survival kit. The con about the sheath is that the strap that secures the items into the pocket is just that, a strap, if it had a bit more fabric kind of like a the a pocket for the M249 cans, it would be tops, but then it may also be a hinderance since one can never know how it will work until trying. Agree with everyone else about the knife however. Liked mine so much I bought 2 others.

Pros:
Built like a brick sh*thouse.
With the RAT treatment, it should be easy to get and keep sharp.
Probably the best sheath that comes with a knife.

Cons:
You'll have an overwhelming desire to buy a backup.
And then one in the other color schemes.
And a backup for them. . .

I don't particularly care to have the drill divot, but it doesn't bother me, either.

If you don't like the skull crusher, it's easy to round off a bit with a grinder or belt sander.

IMO weight isn't a con. If you can't carry a pound of knife, you have much bigger problems than deciding which knife to buy.

Pros are - It is a RAT. What more do you need :D

Cons are ... well, this is irrelevant, as it is a RAT. :D

Pros: I was very impressed with the RC-5 . I like the weight, robust blade, balance, and full grip. The sheath is easy to utilize in various carry options. The guarentee is the best there is. I also bought two others. BTW I don't think you will find any cons it will do whatever you ask it to do in camp or in a survival situation.

As a knife that will not fail this is great but a slicer it ain't! I am very impressed how well it takes and holds an edge for 1/4" stock and how good it feels in the hand. I have big hands and it is comfortable to use for extended periods. I guess it does what it is designed for very well, being a totally reliable blade that could do most things well. Cover your bases and get an Izula as well. You will not really need anything else.
