Just a few days ago I posted a thread in this forum asking if my Busse SAR5 might fit in the sheath that will come with the RC-5 I have on pre-order. I figured that if it fit I wouldn’t need to purchase an extra sheath. Jeff not only answered my question, but just sent me an extra RC-5 sheath for my SAR5! Jeff, you’re an awesome guy! Thanks so much for your generosity. You’ve definitely won a life long customer in me (even though I don’t yet own a Rat Cutlery knife). I definitely owe you one.

As for the sheath, it’s very well made; overbuilt, in fact. The materials are heavy duty and there seems to be a lot of carry options. I would say it’s on par with my bigger Spec-Ops Combat Master sheath in terms of attention to detail and overall quality. Security is top notch. The RC-5 will not fall out of this sheath. There is a good size pouch in front that is held closed with an elastic band as well as a strap and buckle. My SAR5 with it’s 5” long, 3/16” thick blade and 4 7/8” long handle fits into it pretty well, though it is clear that the sheath is made to fit a slightly larger knife. I’m extremely happy with this sheath and am chomping at the bit to get my RC-5. Thanks again, Jeff.

Here are a few detailed shots…

Great guys.

Damn thats a nice sheath!!!!!!

No problem posting Busse pics at all. Great knives and American made!

As far as the sheath goes....Eagle makes the best gear in the world, IMO. These are really nice sheaths.

Jesus! I love RAT so much.

In fact, If someone lost a child, I think Jeff might ship his first born to replace it. Top notch customer service. Actually, this is more than customer service, this is pure love man.

retaining strap adjust ? looks loose on the SAR5 , SAR5 is my Fav Busse own a pair of Pumkin ones (green blade/orange g10).thanks for the pic, Excellent Sheath...I can not wait for the RC5 !

...retaining strap adjust?...

The straps don't adjust. It's obvious that this sheath is made for a specific knife (RC-5). With my SAR5 in place the bottom strap is a bit loose, but the top strap is snug and holds the knife in place.

cool ,thanks,I seen the picture of the straps and sewn into place just by looking at other pics w/ sar looked loose... Great Score bro !!!

hey how is it exactly attachable to you leg using one leg strap?? isn't there a balance issue?

The purpose of the leg strap is to keep the sheath secure in place during movement of any kind. The belt loop is still attached to your belt. The strap is simply to make it more stationary on your body. It also keep the sheath from wanting to pull up as you draw the knife if the blade is sticky in the sheath for any reason. The leg strap isn't meant to be used on its own.
