Why Tactical?
Not only because it sounds good, but I wanted to have something Tactical of my own !!
Because it's black, and there's no firesteelloop.. Tactical folks wear black and don't carry a firesteel, but zippo, windmill or a BIC instead.. To provide a place for stashing your lighter, or whatever really, and ready-to-use BIC-tinder, there's a tube of bicycle-tyre, or innertube shoved around the sheath..
(this could also hold a firesteel brilliantly, but then it wouldn't be Tactical anymore, now would it..)

The lighting was a mixture of heavy overcast, and some tungsten coming from the door, but believe me.. it's black!!

Features are:
- That it doesn't have any rivets or eyelets, but is kept close by a couple of screws. This alows you to take it apart, and clean the kydex out thoroughly when needed.
- The leather backstrap/loop is replacable for a teklok. The teklok could also be mounted on the back leather..
- The rubber strap of bicycle-tyre. You can stash a lot under there, and small strips cut of provide excellent tinder.
- Shaped thumbpush, paracord attachements, drainage hole.. 0.093" kydex + chicagoscrews

In the meantime I added another hole to allow canted carry with a teklok, and to have an extra point to secure some paracord to..

I hope you like it..

Looks great! I like the screw idea a lot. I've been goofing around with eyelets and keep mangling them because I dont have a proper tool to round them. Will post my project per your inspiration ASAP. Thanks!

And if anyone has a surefire method for the eyelet problem, advice would be appreciated. I'm lockedandloaded at comcast.net

Looks great as always mate - just as well i dont have a RC5 as i'd be after one:)

would look cool with a black maxp sheath on the front

I have been thinking of trying to make a Kydex sheath. What tools are required for the rivets? Where do you get your supplies from? Thanks.

Rivets are no must. You could use screws instead..
www.knifekits.com is my premium supplier for kydex goodies. Browse around, and get a kit maybe. If you want to do eyelets, you'll need some setters too. Some foam to form, some sanding paper for the edges. Something to drill holes (the reamer on the Vic soldier does wonders), and an oven or heatgun..
Do a search for kydex tutorial, and you'll be ready to go..
