Bought this here from another member. I held out for the kydex and it was worth it. I really like the belt clip.

Looks awesome but I can not accept the metal bar at the top of the sheath that would press against the handle of the knife. A kydex sheath should not need a metal bar there for retention. Looks like that would be awkward for knife withdrawal and re-sheathing. Tell me if I am wrong as I am just going by the photo.

The bar does make contact with the handle, but it's not an issue.

On my RC-5 it does contact the handle and is kind of awkward, it is not needed for retention though. I'm just going to lash it to my pack. I don't care at all for the belt clip. Absolutely love the knife though!!!!

That bar is a clip that's attached to the backer for the sheath. It has nothing to do with retention. It's just a belt clip.

I personally like the clip, it works well for the way I use the knife. I can take it off and put it on at will.

As for the quality of the sheath itself, I think it's one of the best factory kydex rigs out there. The adjustable tension doohickie is perfect. Best one I've seen yet.

Hey 5.56, can you get a picture of the knife and sheath worn on the belt? I would like to see how it sits.

Every time I see a RC5 pic all i can think is how sexy a knife it is... then I remember I have my own now and I go rub it down with silicone and smile :)

The kydex sheath on these are great and well designed. You can adjust the amount of tension from very light to very hard with just 1 screw.

I saw this bad boy, it is a beast of a knife. A little TOO thick for my tastes.

I have an RC 5 (with Eagle sheath) and a similar sized Crusader Forge that rides in a Kydex sheath. The issue I have with the CF is that the handle is heavy enough that when walking around the knife has a lot of "bounce". Do you find that the RC5 in the kydex tends to "bounce" around or does the clip drop the knife enough?
Thanks,
T

Wow, I'm scared now, haha, I'll try to get a shot up later.

@ 65535, It's not TOO thick, cupcake. It's just right.:p

lol, if you're that scared, you can get one of your lady friends to pose with it. :D
