I just ordered a RC-6 to add to the family. I'm looking forward to getting it and putting it through its paces. I'm not fond of the brown sheath with a black/grey blade. I will probably end up going with a SpecOp sheath but was wondering if anyone has tried painting their sheath? My fear is that once it starts chipping off it will look like crap.

Same goes with neon liners, any remedy for that?

i thought there was a pick in the photo thread with a painted rc6 sheath but most of the paint has come of.

I'd spray it if the colour really bothers you but its just the sheath, i don't care even if its pink, if it holds the knife well, i'm fine with it (or you can get the molle back/pouch, this will cover up a lot of the sheath)

you could swing by a motor cycle shop and pick up some spray paint made for plastic and follow direction on can......
I used before on fuels cells and has not peeld yet.

If you sand the material that is going to be sprayed it should stay on very well.

Scuff it with a scotch brite pad or fine sandpaper to give it some texture, then hit it with a few good coats of that Krylon Fusion paint. It sticks to plastics pretty well. If you don’t like the brown (I’m not a big fan of it either, I’ve always thought black should be the default color for everything :)) worst case you’ll have to touch it up from time to time.

You could pick up the pouch and molle back for the RC5/6. They are black and break up the brown color of the sheath.
