RC "RAT pack" Brand + Pass around (maybe?)

I was thinking it would look neat to have a RAT pack brand that could be passed around and burned into Micarta scales to add some extra "coolness" to some knives. Just a thought. I would post a poll, but that seems limited to bling members. What do you think?

No, this idea is stupid and gimmicky. We don't need a damn brand for our KNIVES...
 
We could even do separate number brands so that each person could put his or her own number on the knife. 10 numbers for the numerical brands, 0-9.

While that is not exactly how I would phrase it. Sure it sounds good if only used on RAT knives. But to be honest I would hate to see it on custom builds & lower quality knives. Although it might look cool on the grips for a 1911 or something I see this leading to more problems than coolness.

I frankly don't care if someone brands themselves, a car door, their grips or whatever. I don't see why that would be a problem. Obviously you would have to be 18+ to obtain the brands so it isn't an issue of what is done, as long as the brands are left intact.

I can't see why anyone would brand themselves for a $50 knife and I doubt they would roll Izulas out to folks who are branding themselves. They make knives to SELL.

I initially thought I might just do this project for myself but thought I would share it with the pack and try to find sanction within those walls. Whether anyone is interested I may go ahead with it at some point and just put them in a drawer when I am finished.

sounds like fun
i personally look forward to at least pix of the iron when complete
and a pass around for those who also find it fun

Not at all sure how I would go about making them yet. I've had a few ideas but some are more expensive than others. The pack brand would obviously have to be custom and is definitely beyond my capabilities. I haven't the skill to render a logo myself into material, or the tools to transfer one from a computer to materials.
 
I hate to be a kill joy, but what Rat Pack symbol/logo is there?

The only logos I can think of that is in use is the ESEE and the RAT triangle, and they both relate to products, not the group in particular. Now if you came up with a RAT Pack logo, then that would add a little more interest in it.

You're right! The pack itself needs a logo! I don't know that I could design a logo, but i've seen some amazing rendering here on this forum.
