Just in case I thought I would pass this along. The RC3 BOOT Clip is only designed for light carry of the knife. SO knife inside the boot, inside the waistband or ligt carry around the house or office where you are not going to be stressing the clip a lot.
Bottom line here is this clip WILL break if you depend on it for secure carry outside the waistband and stress it enough. Snag the knife on something, forcing the clip over too much belt and pants or even just squatting down which could force the knife outwards and snap the clip.
It is light carry only. That is how we designed it and why we call it a "boot clip" and not a "belt clip". Mike

+1 for molle back belt carry. ;)

Or MOLLE Locks! Clips VERY securely to the belt.

When I used the clip on mine it was only for IWB carry, but once I got a few MOLLE Locks I switched to horizontal small-of-the-back carry. It usually rides in a sheath (with the nylon MOLLE backing) on my backpack strap. :)

Mike, did you have your forehead in the palm of your hand shaking your head while making that post? Haha.

IMO, almost any piece of kydex or plastic only fastened at one end (i.e. the clip, some pouch belt loops, etc) will break with moderately hard use. I had some kydex mag pouches once that I snapped the belt loops off every one of them on the seat belt when getting out of the car. That’s why I think the simple paracord system that RAT uses is such a cool idea. I had never seen that before. Keep it up all around you guys. Alright enough butt kissing. (Spit)

Man I have realized that nothing can be taken for granted a common snese in this business. While a lot of mistakes are due to inexperience others do make me wonder what someone was thinking. But if losing a knife from a broken clip is the worst disaster that befalls some folks then they are doing really well.... or really lucky:)

I love the boot clip and have been carrying it like this for a year as my edc.
Never had a problem and I never notice its there.

Wow, I carry mine right side up, under the belt but over the pants. Very secure.

I cannot believe that you have not lost it.

Says right in the directions that it is not meant to be carried inverted unless using the molle back and jump retention.

You are quite the gambler!
:p

Nah. If it pops out it'll just land in his pocket! Positioning is everything. ;):D

Honestly, if RAT made a metal belt clip that attached to the plastic molded stheath, I'd buy 2 of them. This really is the most comfortable carry for me. I tried tek-loks, para cord, and the molle backing. This way the blade is very close to my body, easy to take on and off, and is concealed by my top. Its also nice due to the fact that if I am wearing body armor, its out of the way.
