I've been thinking hard about ordering an RC3 (I'm pretty into riding ATVs and want something better than my Delica when I'm miles out in the woods :) ) but I was wondering what the handle material is?

The micarta grips are very comfortable and should serve you well when you're out getting wet and muddy - and the sheathing system is great as well.

do not think, just do it !!! the RC3 is perfect for atv'n..... Rat Cutlery is made for any outdoor activity ! you will not be disappointed...

If you'll be cutting a lot of rope/cordage, the RC serrations are great. They are not toothy serrations that break easily - they are milled (not ground) serration voids, are very effective, and don't prevent you from sharpening the entire edge of the knife as you usually would (to include the serrated portion). There is a small plain edge portion of blade between each serration. I give them two thumbs up.

I was thinking that the handles were linen micarta.

Micarta none the less. They will take whatever you throw at them.

I have a PE RC3 & a SE RC4 and I really like the Serration on the RC blades, best serrations I have ever encountered...Freaking sharp and easily re-sharpen when the time comes...
