Heya all,

I was wondering if any of you guys use your RC4's as hunters? I was thinking of gifting one to a friend who is a deer hunter. Any thoughts? Thanks much!

I plan on using my RC 4 for deer hunting. Since I got mine, I have used it to skin a raccoon, a badger, some goats as well as many other uses on the farm. It works great and I believe it will work great on deer.

Although I used my Helle Fjellman, a skinner, to actually skin it, my RC-4 did a superb job butchering a bear this past summer. It is the knife I carry with me wherever and whatever I hunt. Only for a bear rug or some other critter with a great hide would I even bother with the Helle and that is because the blade shape makes it less likely to puncture the hide.

I agree. Even if I use another knife for the skinning , I still use the Rc4 because you can pound it right through the pelvis bones real easy.
