If you're just looking for ways to incorporate 550 cord into a carry situation:
How much cord do you want to carry?
You can:
Make a daisy chain hooked through one of the lashing holes. (length is limited by your tolerance for dragging around a tail of crocheted 550 cord)
Wrap around the whole sheath. Length will be about 3'-4'
I just have a hank of it 20' or so and double it over, then daisy chain it as tight as possible - ends up being about 1' long - throw it in the pack.
You can always replace your boot laces with it - this gives you 3'-4' per boot
Mors Kochanski had a neat tip by taking 550 cord and making a belt - if you double and re-double it (4 strands wide) you can thread it as a belt and cinch the loops with a knot where they meet. With a waist of 40 inches, this gives you somewhere in the ballpark of 15'... you can easily add to that by adding wraps and such to make the belt stay together better when removed.
