Hi,
I was wondering if the RC6 will fit in the small spec ops survival sheath. I was also wondering when the RC6 was expected to be shipped and available at online retailers. I was looking at buying the Rat 7, but because of what I have read about the current issue between Ontario and RAT, I am no longer supporting Ontario (I sent them an email stating so) and I will wait for the RC6 to come out.

I know the RC-6 fits fine in the SpecOps Combat Master Sheath so if it's the same size then you should be good to go. We're *hoping* to ship RC-6s in April. Sheathing issues have been a night mare. No ones fault really but just last minute changes. Also, since it's a molded sheath we can't finish the actual knives until we have true production piece of the sheath since we want the fit to be perfect. Production sheaths arrived at Rowen this week. Not sure when the MOLLE backs will be finished but they're being worked on. We'll get there ;)

You know, I don't know. I think it was the small. We got a sample from them since we want to house the SERE model in one of their sheaths. When I got the sample I tried the prototype RC-6 I have and it fit perfect.

My RAT-7 fit perfectly in the large Spec Ops Survival Sheath. I understand the RC-6 is just slightly smaller than the RAT-7--is this right, Jeff? When I get my RC-6, it's going in the now vacant Survival Sheath. (Vacant since I threw out all the Ontario stuff that was lying around.)

The small fits blades up to 6", the large up to 8". I think Jeff said the RC-6 blade is actually a little longer than 6"--is this correct?

Here's a link for more info on the sheath and sizing:

Hope this helps.

That's right amigo. The 6 is slightly smaller than the RAT-7.

Hmm well I have read a couple of places that the small sheath can except knives up to 6 to 6.5 inches. I guess ill just have to wait until they come out and see. Thanks for your help guys!

I still think I had the small. Mike has it now or I would check for you. I think you're right that the small will take up to a 6.5" blade.

1. Too late
2. I don't want any exposure of Ontario's products out there

Maybe I'm just being ornery. I'm getting older and don't get many chances to be rebellious these days so I'm taking advantage of this chance :) Jeff and Mike won't be hurting for money when the time comes, I'm sure. Me and many, many others will be contributing.

Like you, I can't wait to get the RC-6. It's awesome. I saw some at SHOT.
