I ended up with an Izula. Then again, I have all the RC products except the RC-5. The Izula is essentially a perfect knife for its intended function. I had two other necker knives (not kaalo) prior getting the Izula. The Izula easily won the constant carry prize. Handle is super comfy especially with a paracord wrap. The knife can be wrapped full handle length and still fit in the sheath. The knife is beefy and sports a great edge. It works better if you decide to convex the edge.

The kaalo is a nice knife with S30V. If you are really into stainless than it would be good. It looks to me as though it is much less friendly on the ergonics, but probably lighter in weight and has a small and thinner size.

Only other knife I'd consider is the CRK professional soldier but that is almost 4 x the price of an izula. What I'll say is this. If you get the Izula you will have a knife that you think is a near perfect design.

Bos treated S30V is really really nice steel. I am having my Kaala re-handled and plan on shopping for some leather for it as well. For the price, the Kaala is one wicked slicer.

i like izula overall shape better , so i would take it without hesitationk , is so close to perfection
but you can't go wrong with buck either, looks like a great slicer

I find that I have mostly Rat Cutlery & Buck knives, with that said, of the two you ask about I would go with the Izula. I have used mine a great deal and find I carry it just about every day. The Izula is a well thought out & designed knife as is the Buck. For me I vote Izula.

I have the Buck for the S30V against my bare chest on hot days. I changed out the chain for para cord and love it.

I think their both great kniveas, either would suit your needs perfectly. It all boils down to your preference of shape and steel.

Go for the Izula, it's a tough piece of metal, oh and it also cuts things.
