RD-9 or RTAK II ?

i dont own any rats but am in the market for a 9" blade and these have caught my eye. just wondering what advantage one may have over the other. the RD is 5160 and is 1/4" thick, the rtak is 1095 and 3/16" . they are both around $105 shipped, can i find them for less?

Those blades are not produced by Rat Cutlery and Rowen Manufacturing. There are multiple threads on this subject. I would suggest you have a look at the RC-6 or the upcoming Junglas Machete. Long story short, you will get better fit and finish, better warranty and the best customer service in the industry if you stick with RC knives. Good luck on your quest:thumbup:

Nutnfancy has a review of the RTAK II on youtube and one of the R-9. He gives a slight edge to the RTAKII. You might want to wait for the Junglas Machete to come out though.

Is there any word on whether the Junglas will be in distribution shortly after the SHOT show? I understand it's going to be introduced there but does that mean it will be available right away?
