re acid bathing damascus

so i have a Santa Fe Stone Works 3" linerlock from last year and its been in my EDC rotation that whole time, so the color is starting to where down after all this use, is it possible to re dip or bathe it to get that color back?

also its i guess san mai as it has a VG-10 core would this affect the dip at all?

use ferric chloride-etchant from radip shack- deluted 3 to 1 - use qtip and wipe on side and let sit- may take longer but will work -
do one side at a time - spray down with windex with ammonia then wrap 1000 grit sandpaper strip around hard surface and lightly sand
