Re-anodizing thumb studs

I was quick to polish the studs on my damascus 21 but lately I kinda wish I just let the blue wear. I've anodized spacers and lanyard pins before but doing it to the stud seems a bit iffy. Has anyone ever tried doing it to the stud? Would it affect the blade at all?

If the stud is the same material as the stand offs and pins (Titanium?), the anodizing process should be the same, but be sure to remove the stud from the blade before proceeding.
