RE: BT2 removal

OK. You took it off, and underneath, you said it looked like it was just bead blasted? I am planning on getting the 705, but not sure if I want it coated or not.
If it is bead blasted under the coating, and the coating gets scratched off, will it be MORE prone to corrosion than if I got it non-coated? And how hard is it to get off in the first place (without using any chemicals)?

Thanks for your time

I got an idea! What if I were to use Tuf-Cloth or Tuf-Glide on the BT2 blade? Would that mess it up? ANY responses welcome.

Thanks again

I thought it looked like the blade was bead blasted or had a simmilar treatment.I believe that if they are finished to a rough state then the BT2 would penetrate deeper and continue to protect the blade.I will see if mine still can resist rust.I removed mine useing my buffer charged with a course compound. It came off fairly easy.I can also be removed with simple Scotch-Brite pads. That would leave a nice satin finish. If mine is still protected, then I did good and achieved a differant look.If it does'nt do it's job then I'd say just get the non coated blade.Good Luck.
