Hi all,

Don't usually hang out in this forum but thought it *might* just be the place to find out if anyone knows WHERE/how I could get my hands on a Busse Stealth Hawk in Oz?:-) (Yep - that's right - Australia - the place you hit just before you sail over the edge:-)

Thanks in advance,

Joliver.

JOliver,
Glad you stopped by the Busse Forum. I can't help answer your question but Gundy our Resident Busse Aussie might be able to help when he sees this thread.

Good luck and let us know what the outcome of your search is. :D:D

Welcome Joliver!

The only place I am aware of that still has a few left here in the US would be Shomer Tec. Check their website at http://www.shomertec.com/

I think they are right around $147.00 without the sheath.

Their new catalog says they only have a few left and once they're gone, that's it!

You might also try posting in the Wanted forum at the Blade Forums Exchange forum. Who knows, someone might have one in their collection that they would be willing to sell:cool:

Hey there Joliver! What end you from bud?

Forget the S/hawk mate, would not get passed the gate at customs and if one ever did, I would be asking how...

Do you have any other Busse's?

you got it Brav...:(

Yet chain stores like Aussie Disposals are still allowed to bring in double edged daggers and the like...

Thanks for the feedback guys...

Gundy - I'm from the West Coast - Perth:-)

(Yep - there really IS a knife shop in Perth - it just doesn't have any of the knives I want:-)

Strabs - yep - checked out Shomer Tec - but it may be that I just can't get it past customs anyway:-)

Mind you - I'm *thinking* about it:-) I'm no expert on customs laws/rules/etc. but from memory its only automatics, double edged or punch knives that are an issue (?)

Anybody know if non-metallic knives are specifically prohibited for importation in Oz?

BTW - no Busse's as yet Gundy - but have been looking/thinking about them for a while:-)

Joliver.

Hey, I was just over your way, had a 1 hr stop over in Perth to and from destination, the Pilbarra. Very bloody hot there at the moment. Lots of those nasty Death Adders too. Did not care for them that much, hard to see!

Get a Busse man, they are awesome! Next time I am in Perth, I will bring some along so you can have a play with them!

Well - it IS that time of the year:-) You know - the time where we buy ourselves those chrissy presents with pointy bits and try to explain to the wives that this hobby not only keeps us sane but stops us from chasing other women/etc...:-)

Re: Visit to Perth - let me know if you are going to be in town and I'll shout ya a beer or ten:-)

Re: Busse stuff - yes - it *does* get me going thinking about one of those battle mistress jobs in my collection:-) What an old veteran friend of mine would call a real 'working knife':-)

Mind you - not only do I have to spend the cash without she who must be obeyed finding out - THEN I've got to sweat over whether one of these guys in customs is going to want to add my new Busse knife to HIS collection:-( You reckon there'd be any problem with getting the Battle Mistress in?

Joliver.

You going to have a hard time in light of the customs laws. Good Luck, as I wouldnt risk it for what its worth. Unless you have lots of money and time to throw away in jail. From what I know its not supposed to be exported. Good Luck and Be Careful.

Just mark the package religious material.
If they ask say your a Jerry-Krishna and you must have it to practice your beliefs:D

Thanks for the feedback guys:-)

Raden: Jerry Krishna? Might have to try that one:-)

Quijanos: Are you still talking about the Stealth Hawk or the Battle Mistress? (I've basically given up on the Stealth Hawk anyway...)

For those of you who aren't Aussies its kind of hard to explain how things work here - the criminals have guns - the law abiding citizens don't:-)

The few legal guns we have left will all be gone in the next few years - and as for KNIVES - well, every month/year a number of different knives/types of knives are banned/made illegal...

We have a dictatorship, "of the sheeple, by the sheeple, for the sheeple" - and lets face it, if you were the government of Australia you could hardly treat your citizens like grown men and let them decide for themselves what kind of knife they want to buy - that would be the last straw, wouldn't it?:-)

Mmmmh - any room for another Australian over there? (I might just decide to immigrate - at least you have a constitution that *guarantees* you certain rights - the few 'rights' we thought we had over here are evaporating so fast its scary:-(

Joliver.

I think you should be able to get a Battle Mistress through customs. I've sent several knives to Gundy and many of them were Battle Mistress size or just slightly smaller.

Gundy can probably elaborate more. :D:D

Put a pink ribbon around a BM and send her through.:D

Happy Birthday Jolliver...;)

I'm *trying* to hold out you guys:-) At least until I get over all the money I've blown on knives this month:-) <grin>...

BUT - if I *do* weaken and order a BM it will all be your fault Gundy:-) That is what I'm going to tell the missus anyways... Just another 'essential tool' that I have to have:-)

BTW - tell me if I'm insane here or not guys - but WHAT about a BM with a Bob Loveless style fighter subhilt?:-) Gives me a woody just thinking about it:-) THAT would be one awesome knife I reckon?:-)

BTW2 - thanks Gundy - nod is as good as a wink to a blind man:-)

Joliver.
