I would like to thank David Lish, Kyle Royer and JR Cook for their efforts at the recent Micro show. They brought some outstanding work that was gobbled up quickly. Every knife by every maker was sold and orders taken by each maker with the sales portion of the show lasting approx. 2 hours. The show was well attended by folks wanting to add to their collection. This show or even our business could not do so well without people that appreciates the efforts the makers put their hearts and souls in.
You can see on Logan's thread about the show some of the work that was presented. Logan did a good job of trying to catch everything on camera so this years CD should be a doozie. David also did a demo of the making of a shop rat out of some of my Damascus that was drawn for to go to one of the buyers.
Bruce Ripper won the Knife Rodeo cutting and took home a plaque as well as he goes onto my shop wall in the Knife Rodeo wall of Fame. That boy did cut well and is gearing up to making another swing at it for next years show. There was some interesting cuts that no one had seen before walking up to the table. It was a lot of head shaking and questions about "Are you sure this is doable?" It was a lot of fun for both cutters and the audience.
The Sit and Spit portion were we discuss the current trends as well as recent regulations were well discussed so everyone is up to date.
Thank you all, makers and buyers, for making the 2015 show so successful.
Now, onto the 2016 Micro show. Mike Quesenberry from Washington state and Rodrego Sffreddo from Brazil are the invited makers and both have accepted. There is some excitement under foot with questions on what they will bring but we are sure they will bring their A-game and this is good.
2016 will be a show to not miss with these two.
Bob and Holly kept everything flowing well from the kitchen to the show itself without a hitch. Darby's cooking is amazing. The rib that was served cannot be carried with one hand on the plate and I saw some prime rib cuts 3 inches thick for some of the clients. Serious cuts for serious people.
The whole point of this show to is get people together that has similar likes and just have some fun. I think we managed that. Once again, thank you to all.
