Hi all i have just got this knife in a trade with a mate of mine, there seems to be some opinions in England as to wether the serrations are an after production modification. So i decided to turn to the largest knife centre in the world (USA) for a bit of help.

Thanks for helping.
Regards to all Paul.

The serrations just dont look right on that knife.

These are the serrations I usually see on CRKs:

You will get a better answer in the Chris Reeve subforum. That's where all the experts hang out.

Paul, My estimate is that they are not done by the CRK shop. They were put on afterwards. Whomever added the serrations did a nice job.

Congrats on picking up the sebbie.

regards,

Jules

Thanks Jules and others for your input, i tryed to post it on the C Reeves sub forum but couldnt do it.
Cheers Paul.

They definitely look aftermarket to me, and it's interesting that they are left handed serrations on a blade with a right hand thumb stud.

Definitely a mod job. CRK does not do serrations like that. Looks like a good job, if that's what you like! One thing to consider is if whoever did it kept the blade cool during the mod. It must constantly be cooled with a fluid or it COULD mess with the heat treat!

I know what you are saying about the heat treat, and i hadnt noticed the left hand serrations, (i am 50!! we call things like me missing that "a senior moment") once again thanks for the input.
Regards Paul.

Looks like its no good anymore, send it to me and i'll get rid of it for ya :):p

Guday sport, please dont take offence but ------ i think i will keep it in Derbyshire.
With a big smile Paul.

Those are the serrations I am used to seeing from CRK!

The ones on the OP's knife looks NOTHING like CRK's serrations at alll.
