Re-coating a BK-7

I stripped off the coating of my BK-7. It's one of the older Becker versions. I like it, but also have some regret. A BK-11 came in the mail last week and has me wondering about applying a coating back on. If a person was going to pursue that, what would you use? I've parkerized firearms before, and like that finish, but the epoxy powdercoat on the 11 is nice as well.

Thanks in advance for the ideas.

You can get it powder coated somewhere, or find someone local who does Cerakote. I think Cerakote would be my choice. The cheapest easiest way would probably be to order a Duracoat DIY kit.

Power coat will work. The place that media blasts parts for me does that work as well. I've not applied the spray on stuff, but that could worth a try. Thanks.

I just used some Birchwood Casey gun blue. The darkest offered. My BK7 is smooth, but nice and evenly dark. It's gorgeous.

I have used a lot of top coating products on guns, stocks, knives, scales, car wheels etc. Of them all, I would recommend Dura Coat for ease of application an cost. Plus the satisfaction of Doing I Yourself. It holds up well and you have a lot of color choices.

Send it to K9 Handler, he does a damned fine job duracoating. If he'll do it, you won't be dissapointed.

Agreed. Here's a BK-7 he did recently for me.
