Hi

I have a Mora Bushcraft Black knife, and after a sharpening and rust removal process the knife lost some of its black color and now it looks bad.

What can I do in order to fix this situation?

Nothing. It's going to happen everytime you sharpen it. Even if you put a secondary bevel on it, you will eventually have to thin it out, and be back to square one.

If the Mora is carbon steel, you can use a vinegar soaked paper towel to replace the black with an even patina. Just take a paper towel, soak it in vinegar, then wrap it around the knife blade. Wait ten minutes, then remove the knife and wipe it clean with a dry paper towel. Repeat until preferred finish is acquired.

Will the vinegar remove the black color from the blade?
if not, how can I clean the entire color layer in order to have a steel colored knife?

If you want to go to a steel color, I think you're going to need to use some abrasive compound, such as a buffing compound. Then you can get the whole knife to look the same without a coating (steel colored).
