Re-continuing the arc angel?

I am not sure how CS is with bringing things back, but I feel another run of arc angels would be very smart for CS. Given the balisongs benchmade is putting out are not FFFF (Flipper Friendly From Factory) this seems like CS could make a killing off this. Guys on JerzeeDevil (myself included) would love the arc angel being run again, to fill that channel Ti balisong gap in the marketplace. Perhaps rerunning things is not in CS' ideals, I am after all, a CS novice, so I would not know. Maybe the arc angel could be a refreshing blast from the past? What are your guys' opinions on this?

What was the reason?

The manufacturer they used to produce the Arc Angel (Camillus) went out of business. There are only a few U.S. companies making balisongs these days. I doubt that the biggest (Benchmade) would be willing to manufacture them for Cold Steel, though they did so for Bradley so maybe there's hope. Everyone else would be too shoddy, too expensive, or too small and therefore unable to meet the quantity expectations.

Maybe the vendor supplying the 4-Max will prove worthy of the project. I would love to see the Arc Angel again, or even a new model balisong of similar styling.

Have they said who was manufacturing their 4-max and ranch boss?

Not that I've seen. CS is pretty tight-lipped about its manufacturers, though, so I doubt we'll learn the source for quite awhile. I never saw Cold Steel admit its Camillus connection publicly, even after Camillus was gone. I gleaned it from some model similarities and hints in an article or two, but I didn't have it confirmed until folks on Blade Forums addressed it.

There's a thread going on in General Discussion right now about Japanese maker Ichiro Hattori. I just learned from that discussion that Hattori manufactured CS's San Mai III Trail Master and Recon Scout models. I had no idea, and I've been an ardent Cold Steel follower for decades!
