Re-etching a Damascus blade

I picked up my first Damascus blank and it had quite a bit of rust on it. I used a stainless wire wheel on a dremel to remove the rust, then resanded the blade to 600 grit. I need to re-etch as most of the features of the Damascus were sanded away. Would I get OK results doing an etch with Vinegar, followed by a coffee etech, or should I just bite the bullet and order ferric chloride?

Order the Ferric Chloride. It's readily available from the big river site! Dilute with water (1:3 - 1:5 ratio acid to water). Make sure to fully clean (wash with hot, soapy Dawn to get all of the oil/grease off) before trying to etch.
