Good Day,
I have a knife that I want worked on. I know that many makers do not like to work on another makers knife, but the maker of this one is no longer in the game. What this project represents is not a total refinish, just some work to make it more functional to where I am today. I would like to have the blade refinished to show the temper line and improve corrosion resistance. I would like OD Green Canvas Micarta scales put on. And I would like a new Kydex or Concealex sheath made.
The only complication is that the handle has had traction shapes cut into the periphery of the handle. These I would like masked by the Micarta handle slabs. This should be no problem, the slabs can cover them from the sides, and epoxy can be left in to keep mask their presence.
I was going to do this myself, but I don't have the equipment or time to do it.
Ideally I would like someone who has a quick turn-around time. I would be more than happy to provide more details.
The knife is 12.5 inches overall, with a 6.5 inch blade. It is made of 5160.
If you like I can be contacted privately at my email - mdpoff@hotmail.com -
