Hi!

Does anyone know if BM would re-furbish a custom bali-song?
I have one from the latest run (Elishewitz tanto) and i've used it some so it'd need some tender care.

So, will BM do it and would the value rise or drop if one sent it in to have it fixed???

Any help appreciated :)

If your Elishewitz tanto is in need of some tender care, you should probably just get rid of it and buy a new balisong. I am a busy guy, but I am always willing to help someone out, so if you send it to me, I will dispose of it properly. :D

You can contact Roberta DeAsis at Benchmade; Les informed me she is in charge of all the balisong goings on for the company. I hope this will help you out, Dudley 'rdeasis@benchmade.com'

Thanks a lot Lew!

Have you had any fixed by BM? do you have any idea on what it'd cost??

And, the most important question, will i lower the value if i do this?

Will it cost a lot?

Yes. The fellow who will do it is probably Vance. Vance is one of their mastercraftsmen. So, you're asking for the time of one of their best. Not only will it cost you, but Vance is a busy guy, so you can expect a delay.

If the blade is really messed up, then the knife may have to be disassembled and the blade sent back to Mr. Elishewitz. Now we're talking big bucks and major waits.

Will it lower the value of you knife?

Well, how screwed up is it? What's affected? What are we talking about? A little scratch or two to buff out, maybe just touch up the edge? No problem. If the blade profile has to be redone, then that's to bad.

Hi and thanks for the answer Gollnick.

Not too bad, a few scratches from manipulating, you know, the regular one's.
The tip has latch damage and the latch has been in contact with the edge.

I'd just like to have it freshed up, i think that a nice buffing wheel would solve most of the "damage".
Some of the "cuts" to the latch is pretty deep so i don't think that they could be totally buffed out, but eventually they would be less visible if buffed somewhat.
I'm sure that i could do it myself with a buffing wheel and some good buffing paste, but as i'm thinking about getting rid of it i do think it'd be better to have BM do it.

I'll e-mail Mrs. DeAsis and see what she says.

Thanks guys :)
