Re-grinding Knives?

I've just seen the difference the re-grind made on Ankerson's cutting test with the S110V Native, and that really has me itching to have a few of my knives ground down as well. It's actually something I've been wishing to do for a while, ever since I saw what Tom Krien was doing to Spydercos a few years back.

After contacting Tom, he politely informed me he was no longer re-grinding production knives in favor of a focus on his own custom blades. So, now I'm either looking for another maker who is willing to do this or doing it myself. The knives in question range from 154cm to k390 (all production), so I'm thinking the wear resistance and my total lack of experience wil be sufficient barrier to doing it DIY.

So does anyone know a professional maker who can regrind my blades for a reasonable price? Or is it actually in the realm of possibility to do the job right at home?

Are you talking about reprofiling the edges or regrinding the primary bevels? If your talking about reprofiling the cutting edges, invest in a Ken Onion belt machine. They are fairly cheap and you can reprofile to your heart's content.

I've been following Chris for a while now and he puts out a really nice custom knife. He would definitely be a good source for re-grinds.
