After a lot of years taking abuse from big caliber hand guns, pounding hot steel, and cutting dead cow, my right hand is refusing to work correctly. Can't understand why, left hand still works great. Regardless, surgery is coming early this Monday morning. Gonna get carpal tunnel fixed and thumb joint fused. Sounds terrible, but should only take 6 weeks of rehab to be back in action. We'll still be making sheaths and rifle accessories, but delivery will take about 10 days. Ought to be good to go for Track Rock.

Keep your head up Rick. We will be thinking of you. Make sure to get some good occupational therapy while you are on the mend. Let us know how it goes!

Get well soon buddy. You'll have to learn to watch porn with your left hand.

Rick,
Sorry to hear this, but I am sure that the surgery will go great and you will be back to exquisite leather bending in no time! (As well as expending big caliber rounds ;))

Take care and here's to a speedy return my friend

Speedy recovery and agree on the therapy. Will be good to see you at Trackrock!

Praying all goes well with the surgery and you have a reasonably quick recovery time to be better than new. Resist the urge to do too much to fast and you will heal up better.

Take care and get well soon. I have carpal tunnel and understand your pain.

Have being eyeing your kydex and leather sheaths. 10 Day delivery is nothing. Rest up and get well. I am sure none of your customers will mind a slight delay.

Thanks to all for the kind words and thoughts. It's just another wee bump in the road. My wife, Karen, handles most of the rifle orders and we have a great friend who's going to fit some time in his week to help sewing, so we'll find a way to keep going.

I can bring bagels? Or donuts? Or...oh I forgot, you won't eat those.

But Karen will!

Seriously, if you need anything, you know I'm a short trip away.

What he said!

Rick, I was thinking of you often today as I carried my Bear Cub around comfortably and ready for use (and I actually got to use it!)-- it fits well in the (first) Patch sheath. Your work sure helps my days go better. :)

I, too, hope you heal quickly, but especially that you heal well.

My best to you and yours.

~ P.

Prayers for you Rick. Looking forward to hearing from you next week and swinging the 4 pounder at TR with ya buddy.

I recommend two beers with your medication (ice cold or near) and a speedy recovery. Almost forgot metamucil, opiates will make you feel like your passing a soda can. And never smile at a monkey in the jungle, they can take as an act of aggression.

I've had carpal tunnel symptoms before as well and working with your hands for a living just makes it worse because your mitts never get enough rest. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

PS You might look at a Chiappa Rhino to cut down on the heavy recoil. It's a absolute joy to shoot heavy 357 mag loads. .38 feels like a pumped up .22LR. IF you're one of the ones that finds its looks acceptable :-)

I had carpal tunnel release surgery on both hands 4 years ago, that part shouldn't be bad, now the thumb joint fusion hope all goes well with that!

Heck RLo you were always a "closet Lefty" get back to work!

(heal up fast Brother)
