Hello Everyone.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I have a KHHI Jungle (training) Kukri that I've had for about five years. Well the horn handle is cracked in two places one of which seems to have exposed a void in the horn. The end cap is very loose as well. I was wondering if anyone would know a person or company that could re-handle it. Sorry I don't have pictures at this point but I'll have some up soon.

Thanks

P.S. If the thread needs moving just let me know.

the right place to post over here would be in the cantina subforum

I dont know much about repair work, but one thing to try off the bat is a soak in some mineral oil to try to get the horn to expand back to its original size and shape

Welcome Judge Luco!,

To start, i will need to move your thread into the Cantina, above the main forum, where we discuss non-H.I. product and everything else.

Repairing handle cracks is dependant on how big they are. For large cracks i use a mixture of two part devcon clear epoxy mixed in with the handle material and a bit of colorant such as pen ink,charcoal...etc. For small cracks, i wick in a little superglue and sand before it dries to impart some of the handle material into the top layer of the crack.
For loose bolsters sometimes a bit of superglue or epoxy will work, then a slight re-peening of the tang end. In cases where it is extremely loose, it must be removed, reglued and fully re-peened.

Loose pommel. Rattles and moves freely side to side.
