Re-handling a Basic 9 with the new Res-C handle?

Can I send a Basic 9 to BCS and re do the handle with the newer thicker version?

The original handle is basically new but I like the new model better.

Or you could have a hidden tang micarta handle made with one pin like a lot of the custom choppers...that would be bad ass.
