Im working on putting new handles on a bunch of Busse and scrap yard EDC type knives. Also thinking about doing a Regulator LE! I would love to have some imput on what you think would be some cool handle combos.

Im going to try to get one knife done a week. The stick tang handles take me a while to put together and pin but they are fast to shape.

Anyways here's what Im working with. From top to bottom I have

Killa B- Can't decide if I should strip it and do a wood/ micarta handle or keep the coating on and do pure orange G10.
SS4- wood and orange bolster+ liner
Scrap Max 340- wood and canvas bolster or maybe pure wood
311- orange and black G10?
and Dumpster mutt. - I may not do the mutt. Not sure how it will look with a new handle. Might do black and tan G10.

Regulator LE- Mango wood, canvas bolster, canvas and orange liner.

For materials I have
Wood- top to bottom
Curly mango
Curly Koa
Redwood- curly
Claro walnut burl thats curly
Sycamore
Curly underground Koa

For synthetic materials I have
Orange G10- Slabs and liners
Natural Canvas- Slabs and liners
Green canvas
Tan/ brown canvas
Orange/black G10
black/ Red G10
Black/ tan G10
Multicam G10

Pins- copper or stainless 1/8th
Natural canvas .25

Ohhhhhhhhh that hurts I think that is my old Regulator. I have to see pics when you are finished. I want to grind down the Ratmandu and move the slabs forward to civer the choil. A choilless Ratmandu would be awesome.

I'm worried the regulator might not look right without a metal guard but I don't have the skill to do those.

I really want to do a battle mistress or M9. That pretty much my dream rehandle

I recently picked up a CGFBM and I need to re handle it. I am thinking a nice hardwood and a red of black liner, with nice mosaic pins. I have never done this before and need some tips on how to attach the handles (Epoxy) do I attach the scales first and then attach the pins, Are the Pins supose to be snug fitting. thanks in advance...

I'd love to see the SS4 satined and G'rexed like a custom shop meaner, but that's just me :)

I ghetto satin full convexed mine. might have to strip my meaner. What I would love to rehandle is my CABS and ganzaa sniperhawk. I'm going to wrap it first though and see how I like it

Kalel, why not leave an inch or so of original res-c guard, then follow with ur curly koa on the regulator

Gixxerman I did a thread on how to do this with scales for some kitchen blades......here's the link. Hope it helps.. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/724315-Scales-WIP

The regulator would look great with only the bottom guard and a solid wood handle. I like the frame handle method you used on the 460 (IIRC?) where the G-10 was used.

Very interested in how some of these turn out. How do you plan on attaching the g10 to the stick tang of the 311?

I've been doing the boxed tang technique for hidden tang knives.

I get two pieces of g10 or micarta that are the correct thickness and then sand them to meet the contours of the tang. It's much easier If the tang is completely straight vs a downward curve like the dogfather tang has.

I really need to learn how to do a true hidden tang with a block of wood but I don't know if I have the skill or shop tools for that yet.

Didn't you also get a FBM blade off the exchange the other day mate? That would look stunning with the orange G-10 or the Walnut!

Unfortunately I did not get the CGFBM. I was really excited about that one. Id really like to score a big blade and use my Mango block on it.

I'm thinking about changing the scales on my BM.... What would you suggest that is hot-looking but also tough as nails/fairly water resistant?

The laminate handles with stabilized wood are really strong and personally I think they are some of the coolest handles out there. If you glue the scales to the tang properly and use the right finish its also very water resistant.
